Backyard Makeover Contest
Anyone interested in being part of a backyard makeover contest?
We are putting together a backyard makeover contest like you see on DIY or HGTV. Basically the contest will be open in the Manatee/Sarasota area. Contest entries will send us a picture & why they would like a makeover, We will then have people vote on the entries. We are working with several local companies to put this together. This will be a complete yard makeover including a water feature, an arbour, patio, shed, landscaping, rain barrel, etc.
We are looking for any local small business who would like to participate (outdoor furniture, hydroponic gardening, decking, solar lighting, etc). Participants will be donating their labor &/or
merchandise in exchange for the publicity.
WQmag will be sponsoring the event & will be featuring the project in the mag & online as well as on TV ads. (They have over 11,000 subscribers for the print mag alone). We also have a professional videographer who will be taping the makeover & submitting it to WEDU as well as local & national tv shows. A press release will also be sent out July 1st to all the local TV, radio & newspapers.
If you are interested in participating or know anyone who may be interested please let us know ASAP we are on a deadline & we need to have the companies info for inclusion in the magazine feature by Monday the 22nd. The actual makeover won't take place until September.
